Freeze or Burn: Choosing the right body sculpting treatment for you

It is a truth universally acknowledged that diet and exercise are the dual keys to better health. What is also true, however, is that even eating right and staying active cannot always guarantee the achievement of our physical goals. Employing the latest technology in body aesthetics, we offer a diverse range of safe, tried and true techniques to support your efforts in attaining your ideal aesthetic and health goals.

Who should look into body sculpting treatments?

Anyone who is struggling with shedding stubborn fat in specific areas can consider seeking out our body treatments. It is a myth that only those who are overweight face the issue of stubborn fat; in truth, anyone can find themselves experiencing difficulty in toning certain problem areas, the most common of which often include the tummy, thighs, and hips. This does not always translate to unhealthy eating habits or lack of exercise, since factors such as genetics and hormone changes also influence where and why our bodies may choose to retain fat.

What’s the difference between fat freezing and fat burning?

FAT FREEZING, specifically our Clatuu Alpha Cryolipolysis process, is the latest in Korean technology, targeting select areas of difficult-to-lose fat. It is a reliable and effective fat-loss solution that leaves surgery out of the equation.  Clatuu Alpha works by targeting the layer of fat just below the skin’s surface; it is this layer that is responsible for unsightly bulges. Carefully selected applicators suck up a portion of this fatty tissue and cool it to the point of crystallisation. The body naturally breaks down this layer of crystallised fats and excretes it, leading to permanent removal of the treated fat cells. The entire process is non-invasive and involves minimal discomfort. It has helped many patients who were close to their ideal weight to effectively rid themselves of specific pockets of stubborn fat.

FAT BURNING via truSculpt® iD’s powerful radiofrequency technology, in comparison, evenly distributes optimal, low frequency energy deep throughout the fat layer from skin to muscle. This results in selective cell-death in an average of 24% of fat cells targeted. Over a 12-week process, the body excretes these fat cells, allowing for results that are visible after even a single session. It can be tailored to treat areas both large and small, and is flexible enough to accommodate differences in fat density and skin types. Clients who favour skin tightening and an overall reduction in body fat have voiced their satisfaction with this approach.

In other words, both treatments work by inducing apoptosis in fat tissue. Both are proving to be the leading choices among those seeking a minimal-discomfort, non-surgical way to sculpt and contour their ideal figures.

Fire or Ice?

Why choose when you can have the best of both worlds?

At The Aesthetic Studio, a combination of fat freezing and infrared technology can be administered under the skillful eye of our internationally-trained Aesthetic Doctor and Consultant Surgeon, Dr. Jonathan Lee, in a “fire-and-ice” combination for maximum efficiency and enhanced results.

The treatments work well together since Clatuu Alpha targets specific, often deep, fat pockets; truSculpt® iD works across larger, more uniform areas which tend to be more superficial by comparison. The RF technology utilized by truSculpt® iD also helps with tightening and smoothing skin after the loss of fat volume.

Is this approach suitable for me?

At The Aesthetic Studio, we believe that individual beauty requires an individual approach. It’s why every journey we take begins with a personal consultation. Before deciding the optimal combination of fat-freezing modality with heat-based RF technology for your health goals, we make space for your concerns and questions. If what you seek is a partnership that celebrates your natural beauty, prioritises your health and comfort, and aims to help you attain long-lasting results at a safe pace, book a consultation to talk to Dr Lee about the right body treatments for you today.

What to Expect

Step 1

All Restylane® Kysse fillers come with lidocaine, an anesthetic, to ensure that your treatment is relaxing and entirely comfortable. Initially, a topical anesthetic will be applied on the injection site to numb the area.

Step 2

Our aesthetic doctor will begin the procedure with the first injection using an ultra-fine needle, before taking a pause to allow the lidocaine in Restylane® Kysse to further numb the lip area.

Step 3

The procedure then continues until the treated area shows the desired results. Thereafter, the injected area will be massaged to ensure that the filler gel is distributed evenly across the lips for natural results.

Are there any before and after photos of Restylane® Kysse results?

As dictated by Ministry of Health, we are not allowed to publish ‘before’ and ‘after’ images of aesthetic treatments. If you are interested in seeing the full before-and-after results please provide us with your name and email below, and we will send the images to your email address.

Restylane Kysse Frequently Asked Questions
Am I an ideal candidate for Restylane® Kysse Lip Fillers?

Patients should not use Kysse lip filler if they:

  • Have a history of severe allergic reactions.

  • Have had a previous allergic reaction to hyaluronic acid fillers.

  • Are allergic to anesthetics, like lidocaine.

While both of these are hyaluronic acid lip fillers, they have slightly different formulas. Restylane® Kysse adds volume and enhances your existing lip shape and symmetry to create smooth, natural-looking lips. It can also treat smoker’s lines, or commonly known as wrinkles around the mouth.

Juvederm, on the other hand, is a great option for patients who are looking for a more voluminous look. When deciding on which lip filler, it depends on the look you want to achieve.

Due to the different formulations, Restylane® Kysse has a unique structure that lasts longer than other fillers. Most dermal lip fillers last around 9 months, however you can expect results lasting up to 12 months with Restylane® Kysse.

The discomfort experienced during the treatment varies from person to person and depends on factors such as:

  • Sensitivity of the patient

  • Pain tolerance of the patient

  • Anxiety level of the patient

Restylane® Kysse comes with anesthetic inside the gel already, hence discomfort is at its minimum.

All lip fillers have some mild side effects. You may experience some slight swelling and bruising on the injected area, but these should go away within 7 days.

  • As with other lip fillers treatment, a cold compress may be applied to the injected area to reduce swelling.

  • Avoid touching the injected area for at least 6 hours so that you do not accidentally injure your skin while the area is numb. Thereafter, the treatment area can be gently washed with soap and water.

  • Minimise strenuous exercise and exposure to excess heat, sun, or UV rays for the first 24 hours. Exposure to these may cause temporary redness, swelling, or itching at the treated area.

Full aftercare instructions will also be provided after the treatment.
