Carbon Peel Laser Treatment

A celebrity-favourite Hollywood Peel that uses carbon laser technology to deeply cleanse pores and control excess oil

Introduction

What Is A Carbon Peel Laser?

Spectra Carbon Peel Laser Machine

The Carbon Peel Laser treatment is a non-invasive laser procedure designed to deeply cleanse pores, refine skin texture, and improve overall skin clarity.

A thin layer of specialised carbon lotion is applied to the skin and then activated with laser energy — allowing impurities, excess oil, and dead skin cells within the pores to be targeted and lifted away.

Often known as the “Hollywood Peel”, the treatment became popular among celebrities such as Angelina Jolie and Kim Kardashian, who reportedly used it before red carpet events to achieve a luminous, camera-ready glow. Its ability to refresh the skin quickly with minimal downtime makes it a favourite for pre-event preparation or general skin maintenance.

Performed using the Spectra Q-switched Laser, the carbon laser peel visibly refines pores and controls excess oil for enhanced skin clarity.

What It Treats

What Does Carbon Peel Laser Treat?

Carbon laser peel treatment for acne-prone skin and clogged pores

Acne-Prone Skin

Carbon laser peel helps manage acne-prone skin by reducing excess oil and clearing clogged pores — two key factors that contribute to breakouts. It works by targeting sebum and impurities within the pores, for a more balanced skin environment.

Ccarbon laser peel treatment to reduce enlarged pores and refine skin texture

Enlarged Pores

Improves the appearance of enlarged pores by removing trapped oil, debris, and dead skin cells. This deep cleansing effect helps refine skin texture and reduce the visibility of pores, resulting in smoother, more refined-looking skin.

Carbon laser peel treatment for oily skin and excess sebum control

Oily Skin

Well-suited for oily skin, the carbon particles absorb excess sebum while laser energy helps regulate oil production. This helps reduce shine, minimise congestion, and improve overall skin clarity across oil-prone areas.

Carbon laser peel treatment to improve dull skin and uneven skin tone

Dull/Uneven Skin Tone

Gently exfoliates the skin by removing dead skin cells and surface impurities, helping to improve skin clarity and brightness. This results in a more refreshed, radiant, and even-looking complexion over time.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions About Carbon Laser Peel

Is carbon peel laser safe?

Carbon laser peel is generally considered a safe and well-tolerated treatment when performed using appropriate medical-grade laser devices and protocols. The procedure is non-invasive and works on the superficial layers of the skin, which reduces the risk of significant complications.

Most patients experience only mild and temporary effects such as slight redness or warmth immediately after treatment, which typically resolves within a short period. As with all laser procedures, proper assessment and appropriate settings are important to ensure suitability for different skin types and concerns.

Carbon laser peel is usually well tolerated, with most patients describing the sensation as a mild warming or light tingling feeling on the skin. Some may notice a slight snapping sensation as the laser interacts with the carbon particles, but this is generally brief and manageable.

The treatment does not typically require numbing, and discomfort levels are significantly lower compared to more intensive laser procedures. Most patients are able to resume normal activities immediately after the session.

Carbon laser peel treatments are typically performed every 2 to 4 weeks, depending on individual skin condition and treatment goals. While improvements in skin clarity can be seen after a single session, a series of

While some improvement in skin clarity can be seen after a single session, a series of 3 is usually recommended for more consistent and longer-lasting results.

For individuals with more persistent concerns such as oily or acne-prone skin, additional sessions may be required as part of a structured treatment plan.

For maintenance, periodic sessions may be performed to help control oil production, keep pores clear, and maintain overall skin quality.

Carbon laser peel can be helpful for managing acne-prone skin, particularly in cases related to excess oil production and clogged pores. The carbon particles absorb sebum and impurities, while the laser energy helps to clear debris and reduce the environment that contributes to breakouts.

While it is not a standalone treatment for more severe or inflammatory acne, it can be part of a broader treatment plan to improve skin clarity and reduce the frequency of breakouts.

Carbon laser peel is more effective for superficial skin concerns such as oil control, pore cleansing, and overall skin clarity. It may provide mild improvement in very superficial acne marks, but it is not designed to treat deeper acne scars.

For conditions such as depressed or long-standing acne scars, other treatments such as fractional lasers or regenerative procedures may be more appropriate. A proper assessment helps determine the most suitable approach based on the type and severity of scarring.

Yes — carbon laser peel is particularly suitable for individuals with oily skin and enlarged pores. The carbon solution absorbs excess sebum, while the laser energy helps to remove impurities and regulate oil production.

Over time, this can help reduce shine, keep pores clearer, and improve overall skin texture. Many patients choose this treatment as part of a regular skin maintenance routine for oil control

Carbon laser peel is often described as a “no downtime” or “lunchtime” laser treatment. Most patients are able to return to their normal daily activities immediately after the procedure.

Some mild redness or warmth may be experienced shortly after treatment, but this typically resolves within a few hours. Because the treatment is gentle and non-invasive, it is commonly chosen by individuals looking for quick skin refresh with minimal disruption to their schedule.

Carbon laser peel and pico laser treatments serve different purposes and are often used for different skin concerns.

Carbon laser peel focuses on surface-level concerns such as oil control, pore cleansing, and skin clarity. Pico laser, on the other hand, is typically used for pigmentation, acne scars, and deeper skin remodelling.

Rather than one being “better” than the other, the choice depends on the individual’s skin condition and treatment goals. In some cases, both treatments may be used as part of a comprehensive skin plan.

The cost of a carbon laser peel in Singapore can vary depending on factors such as the type of laser used, the number of sessions required, and the setting in which the treatment is performed.

Medical-grade treatments performed in a clinical setting may differ from non-medical facials, particularly in terms of technology and treatment approach. A consultation is usually recommended to determine the most appropriate plan based on individual skin concerns.

Restylane® Kysse Lip Fillers
What is Restylane® Kysse

Dubbed as the gold standard of lip fillers, Restylane® Kysse is a hyaluronic acid (HA) filler that’s designed specifically for our lips. Using XpresHAn™ Technology, it provides flexible movement and natural-looking volume while enhancing the texture and colour of the lips.

Benefits of Restylane Kesse
  • Luscious, plumped lips

  • Soft, natural-looking results

  • Smooths lip lines and wrinkles

  • Enhances the colour of your lips

  • Allows for flexible lip movements

  • More defined, volumized, and youthful lips

  • Longer-lasting results as compared to other lip fillers

  • Immediate results with zero downtime

What to Expect

Step 1

All Restylane® Kysse fillers come with lidocaine, an anesthetic, to ensure that your treatment is relaxing and entirely comfortable. Initially, a topical anesthetic will be applied on the injection site to numb the area.

Step 2

Our aesthetic doctor will begin the procedure with the first injection using an ultra-fine needle, before taking a pause to allow the lidocaine in Restylane® Kysse to further numb the lip area.

Step 3

The procedure then continues until the treated area shows the desired results. Thereafter, the injected area will be massaged to ensure that the filler gel is distributed evenly across the lips for natural results.

Are there any before and after photos of Restylane® Kysse results?

As dictated by Ministry of Health, we are not allowed to publish ‘before’ and ‘after’ images of aesthetic treatments. If you are interested in seeing the full before-and-after results please provide us with your name and email below, and we will send the images to your email address.

Restylane Kysse Frequently Asked Questions
Am I an ideal candidate for Restylane® Kysse Lip Fillers?

Patients should not use Kysse lip filler if they:

  • Have a history of severe allergic reactions.

  • Have had a previous allergic reaction to hyaluronic acid fillers.

  • Are allergic to anesthetics, like lidocaine.

While both of these are hyaluronic acid lip fillers, they have slightly different formulas. Restylane® Kysse adds volume and enhances your existing lip shape and symmetry to create smooth, natural-looking lips. It can also treat smoker’s lines, or commonly known as wrinkles around the mouth.

Juvederm, on the other hand, is a great option for patients who are looking for a more voluminous look. When deciding on which lip filler, it depends on the look you want to achieve.

Due to the different formulations, Restylane® Kysse has a unique structure that lasts longer than other fillers. Most dermal lip fillers last around 9 months, however you can expect results lasting up to 12 months with Restylane® Kysse.

The discomfort experienced during the treatment varies from person to person and depends on factors such as:

  • Sensitivity of the patient

  • Pain tolerance of the patient

  • Anxiety level of the patient

Restylane® Kysse comes with anesthetic inside the gel already, hence discomfort is at its minimum.

All lip fillers have some mild side effects. You may experience some slight swelling and bruising on the injected area, but these should go away within 7 days.

  • As with other lip fillers treatment, a cold compress may be applied to the injected area to reduce swelling.

  • Avoid touching the injected area for at least 6 hours so that you do not accidentally injure your skin while the area is numb. Thereafter, the treatment area can be gently washed with soap and water.

  • Minimise strenuous exercise and exposure to excess heat, sun, or UV rays for the first 24 hours. Exposure to these may cause temporary redness, swelling, or itching at the treated area.

Full aftercare instructions will also be provided after the treatment.

Acne

A commonly overlooked yet physically and psychologically scarring problem, acne is a long-drawn problem that commences at puberty and can drag on well into one’s 20s to 30s. Adult-onset acne is also common, commencing in one’s 20s to 30s and dragging on well beyond that. Caused mainly by accumulation of dead skin, bacterial infection and uncontrolled inflammation, acne is a rather well understood medical condition. Hormonal influences, genetic factors, and even proposed dietary influences are known to be the underlying drivers of acne in some too. Early intervention is the best solution – less acne translates to less scarring, saving you precious time and finances required in attempting to resurface those pesky scars later on.

Acne Treatments

Chemical Peels

Chemical peels consist of mild acids that, when applied to skin, promote controlled exfoliation of skin as well as inactivation of the sebaceous units responsible for breakouts.

Used as a complimentary form of treatment to existing topical therapy, chemical peels can quickly and effectively control most forms of acne.

3-5 sessions are typically required at 2 weekly intervals to bring acne under control, with subsequent sessions done every 4-6 weeks for maintenance.

Carbon Peel

Using a specialised laser and a black carbon-based ink on the face, sebaceous glands can be targeted, bacteria killed, and mild exfoliation performed.

Sessions done at 2-4 weekly intervals can help keep acne bay while also helping to lighten any post-inflammatory pigmentation left by the acne and even reduce pore size.

AGNES

For the larger, stubborn and recurrent acne, the use of a highly selective probe to deliver high radio-frequency energy into the sebaceous unit effectively and permanently inactivates the gland.

This more permanent solution to acne allows for effective management of recurrent acne without having to resort to oral medication such as oral isotretinoin.

Tattoo Removal
Tattoos, while easily placed, are much more complicated to erase. Newer methods of treatment are more reliable, and total time required for tattoo removal can be shortened to less than a year.

Tattoos, while easily placed, are much more complicated to erase. Existing therapies involve the use of nano-second Q-switched lasers, but treatments prove difficult with many requiring 2-3 years of repeated visits at 2-3 monthly intervals. Newer methods of treatment involve the use of newly developed pico-second lasers. These lasers, firing many times faster than conventional Q switched lasers, fracture pigments more effectively. In effect, treatments are more reliable, and total time required for tattoo removal can be shortened to less than a year.

Here at The Aesthetic Studio, we employ the use of the Lutronic Picoplus Pico-second laser for optimal tattoo removal; with 4 wavelengths of light at your disposal, removal of tattoos of varying colour and complexity just got easier.

With a high energy output, a wide range of precisely controllable fluence output and four wavelengths of light for increased versatility, the Picoplus Pico-second laser is optimised for tattoo removal and pigment management.

Depending on tattoo complexity, 5-10 sessions may be required at monthly intervals for optimal clearance.

Combination with ablative lasers may be advised to reduce post-laser blistering commonly associated with tattoo removal.
