So Much of Expression Begins Around the Eyes
The eye area plays a central role in expression. Even subtle changes in volume, skin quality, pigmentation or structure can affect how rested, alert or tired the face appears.
What looks like one concern may have several causes. The aim is to understand what is creating that appearance before deciding what should be treated.
Our philosophy is to look beyond the visible concern — understanding the role of pigment, volume, skin and structure before deciding what, if anything, should be treated.
What Are You Noticing Around Your Eyes?
Darkness beneath the eyes may come from pigmentation, visible vessels, shadowing, skin thinness or a combination of several contributing factors.
Under-eye bags and puffiness can develop from fluid retention, fat prominence, skin laxity or age-related changes in the tissues around the eyes.
Hollowness beneath the eyes often reflects changes in volume and facial structure, creating a shadowed or sunken appearance along the tear trough.
Fine lines around the eyes may develop as skin becomes thinner, drier and less elastic, alongside repeated movement from smiling and squinting.
The upper eyelid crease varies naturally in height and definition. Some people may have a faint, uneven or absent crease that changes how open or defined the eyes appear.
A lower brow position can change the shape and openness of the eye area, sometimes contributing to heaviness around the upper eyelids.
Treat The Eye, Preserve the Expression
The eye area is small, but the structures within it are closely connected. Pigment, skin quality, fat, muscle, bone and volume can all influence what we see — and changing one part can affect the balance of the whole area.
Our approach is therefore not to treat every shadow, line or hollow in isolation. We first consider what is creating the appearance, then choose an approach that respects the anatomy around the eyes and the expression that makes them uniquely yours.
