Changes such as droopy eyelids, wrinkles, tear-troughs and eye-bags are all common concerns and are all manageable both surgically and non-surgically. With more non-surgical options becoming available, patients are often left confused as to what might suit them best.

Eye Bags

Appearing as bulges beneath the eye, eye bags are due to herniation of fat between the eye and the bony orbital rim.

This can come with age or be present from young due to genetic factors.

TEAR TROUGHS

The tear trough is an anatomical indentation sitting just between the cheek and the lower eye.

While considered a normal structure, this groove can deepen with age, accentuating the hollowing and lethargic appearance.

DARK EYE CIRCLES

Dark eye circles - or the panda eye look - can be due to several reasons, including

2. Visible vasculature under the skin

3. Increased pigmentation

4. Skin laxity and wrinkling

Droopy Eyes

The effects of aging cause stretching of a wide, tendon-like tissue that helps lift the eyelid. The drooping eyelid may makes your eyes appear smaller and lose the crease. If it covers your pupil and limits your vision, you may try to compensate unconsciously by raising your eyebrows and cause tension headaches and give your eyes an odd, surprised appearance.

The eye is a complex area that undergoes a multitude of changes as we age. The overlying skin loses elasticity and begins to wrinkle; the underlying muscle weakens and further allows sagging; the deep fat pads begin to bulge through weakened muscles; bony volume is lost, creating hollows.

The non-surgical method therefore requires a multi-pronged approach. Combining the capabilities of 3 modalities with Dr. Jonathan Lee’s skills in facial aesthetic and his surgical precision, we are able to target the different depths and re-volumise the peri-orbital area to turn back the time. Many clinics or medispa would suggest only the use of filler to fix all the problems but it is not effective enough and won’t produce a natural looking results as the combined methods.

Ultraformer MpT HiFU

The Ultraformer MPT High Intensity Focused Ultrasound uses highly intense focused ultrasound technology to heat and stimulate the deeper layers of the face, resulting in collagen production and lifting effects on the overlying skin. Performed once every 6 months, overlying skin is kept taught and lifted, reducing crepiness and droopiness around the eyes.

The UF III, specifically, has a specialised delivery system that allows precision in energy delivery around the delicate eye area. This increases its efficacy, safety and ease of use. 

You leave the clinic with a mild pinkness and are able to return to your daily routine as soon as you’re out the door.

AGNES Radio-frequency needling

The AGNES is a flexible tool that allows us as doctors to non-surgically tackle issues that might otherwise require the knife. 

Used on the skin, the AGNES effectively stimulates and tightens the superficial skin through the delivery of radio-frequency energy. With a precise delivery system, we are able to get closer to the eye than with the UF III, improving skin quality and tightening loose skin.

With a switch of a hand piece, we are able go deeper to break down eye-bags non-surgically, reducing the under-eye bulge we often see as we enter our 40s.

The downtime can range from 2 to 7 days of mild swelling to bruising, depending on what you are being treated for. 

Combing the UF III and AGNES, we are able to adopt a multi-layer approach for maximal effect without having to resort to surgical means.

To restore volume and blend hollows, injectable fillers play a major role in rejuvenating and sculpting the aging peri-orbital area. These fillers are commonly done in combination with the above procedures to produce synergistic and unrivalled outcomes for patients.
