What to Expect

Step 1 - Conditioning

A topical numbing cream will be applied to ensure a comfortable process for the patient. Our aesthetic doctor will gently move the laser hand tool, passing a Nd:YAG beam along the surface twice to first provide a short stimulus to the skin, before penetrating the tissue to condition the skin.

Step 2 - Fractional therapy

Old, worn-out skin are ablated away by a fractional Er:YAG laser. This process also helps to rid dead skin cells. As the skin underneath the dead skin cells reveals itself, your skin will experience a skin rejuvenation process with new, tighter and healthy tissue.

Step 3 - Peeling

As the last step of the treatment, the skin is ablated with a light full Er:YAG beam, which helps to remove superficial imperfections such as fine lines, wrinkles, pigmentation.

WHAT DOES A FOTONA MICRO-LASER PEEL TREATMENT FEEL LIKE?

Our aesthetic doctor will gently move the laser hand piece over your skin after a topical numbing cream has been applied and settled in. Due to the laser energy, there may be heating sensations felt — but it is generally very tolerable.

IS THERE ANY DOWNTIME AFTER THE TREATMENT?

You may experience some sun-burn like sensations such as redness or mild peeling. However, patients are free to resume their daily activities thereafter, though we would recommend to avoid direct sunlight exposure for a few days.

IS THERE ANY AFTERCARE REQUIRED?

Like other laser procedures, the aftercare for this procedure is minimal and straightforward:

  • Always protect your skin with sunscreen

  • Avoid direct sunlight exposure for a few days

Depending on individual's conditions, a set of after-care instructions will also be provided after the treatment.
